I got this email from Alexia, the Director of Music Therapy International:
I am emailing you as someone who has previously supported Music as Therapy International and I am hoping you might lends us your support once more in an extremely pain-free way: We have just been nominated as a possible Charity of the Year of a company called Paritor. If we are successful, it will mean they pledge to raise money for us throughout 2011… quite a significant impact on our fundraising and what we are able to actually do in the different countries where we work. What we need now are votes!
So, please, will you vote for us? To vote, all you need do is send an email to charity@paritor.co.uk stating your name and saying “I think Music as Therapy International should be your charity of the year”. (If you are interested to look up the nominated charities you can do so here)
If you were feeling particularly kind, you could forward this appeal on to anyone you know who might also be persuaded to vote for us! You might also like to read about the way we’ve been getting the benefits of music therapy to children and adults in several continents in the News section of our website, or even the project we are in the middle of right now in Rwanda (training two fantastic staff teams who want to use music to help the disabled children they look after). Oh, and we haven’t forgotten that our roots lie Romania, so you can read about what we’ve been up to there this year here.
Finally, I never like to force anyone to part with money, but if you are excited by what you read about on our website, you might even wish to make a small donation by clicking here (or make a regular commitment by standing order ). Despite branching out in what we are doing, we’re still a small charity and we still notice (and celebrate!) every pound we receive. Thank you so much - particularly for that crucial vote!
Alexia
